Dr. Michael Song specializes in neurosurgery with an emphasis on minimally invasive and complex spine and brain surgery. He currently resides in Northern Nevada where he has his own private practice at Advanced Neurosurgery.
In 1992 Dr. Song received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Philosophy from Indiana University. By 1997 he obtained his Doctor of Medicine from Indiana University Medical School. The same year he began an internship with the Department of General Surgery as a Surgical Intern at Loyola University Medical Center. The following year he began his residency as a Neurosurgery Resident at Loyola University Medical Center where he spent five years training and perfecting his skills. During his studies he received many awards including the American College of Surgeons Award for Top Student in Surgery.
Shortly after completing his residency he joined, Sierra Neurosurgery Group, in 2004, where he spent the next two years specializing in Neurosurgery. In October of 2006 he left Sierra Neurosurgery Group and the following month opened a private practice which specializes in Advanced Neurosurgery.
Dr. Song is a certified diplomat of the American Board of Neurological Surgery and a member of many professional associations including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the North American Spine Society, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the Korean American Spine Society and Nevada State Medical Association.
Dr. Song currently resides in Nevada with his wife and two sons.
